David and Mary Ellen were born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. They both came to Christ during the “Jesus Movement” in the 70’s and, after living many years in Colorado and Kansas, returned home to St. Louis in 1995. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in January of 2017, and currently have two grown children and four grandchildren.
David has been in full-time ministry at Bethel since 1999. He serves as an elder and is mainly involved in the worship and teaching ministries. He completed a Masters Degree in Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in 2010.
“A spiritual family is just one of the many wonderful blessings that God gives Hischildren. It’s a place where we can learn about Him and where He strengthens His people to face life’s challenges. I’ve found Bethel Community Church to be a place where people of all ages are encouraged to grow in their knowledge of, and love for JesusChrist, and equipped “to give an answer to everyone who asks the reason for the hope that is in [them], with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).
Personally, I am grateful to be surrounded by a community of like-minded individuals who are not only being transformed by the Good News of Jesus Christ, but who are intentional about proclaiming Him to others.
